Our School Day

From September 2022, our school day starts at 8.45am. This change is an extension of our school day in line with government expectations to have a standardised length of the school day for all pupils win our country. The school gates will open just before 8.45am to enable children to be in school ready to learn at 8.45am. Children are dropped off at the school playground gates or the KS2 classroom gates and go straight into class to complete their morning activities. School gates will be locked just after 8.45am. Children will be classified as ‘late’ from 8.50am.

We do have a Breakfast Club which opens on site from 7.45am and is accessed via the booking system on ParentPay. Please contact school for more details.

A typical school day consists of a morning session of core subjects such as English and Maths, with a whole school assembly where we share our vision PSHE and aims through our themed assemblies. We have a mid morning playtime and a snack time consisting of fruit (free for KS1) and milk for those who take up the milk option. Our lunchtime starts at 11.45 for Reception and 12o’clock for KS1 & KS2. The afternoon sessions consist of other curriculum areas and topic based learning including PE and Forest Schools.

The end of our school day is 3.15pm.

We have an extended schools provision – a Wraparound care service which is open onsite daily from 3.15 until 5.45pm and is bookable in advance. Please see the school office for details.

There are a variety of lunchtime clubs available including sewing, lego, choir, chess and homework club.
