Online Safety

Safety in school is paramount. Online safety, safeguarding and mental health and well being are vital components of safety which must be in place in order to enable children to achieve their full potential. In our school we ensure that children are taught how to keep safe online through our weekly computing sessions. We also link this to our PSHE work and safeguarding aims.

Our online safety leader is Miss Darmanin.

Our computing curriculum leader is Miss Manton.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead’s (DSL’s) are Mrs Lyall, Mrs Williams and Miss Darmanin.

Computing Curriculum coverage

We ensure full curriculum coverage through our ITTeach.org curriculum content where children are taught about the protective factors for online use to ensure we can create confident independent learners with an understanding of how to keep themselves and others safe. We regularly share with children the age restrictions for apps and internet sites which are popular with children and young people, to ensure they are only accessing materials which are age appropriate.
